Roundhill Files for Election-Themed ETFs, Potential Market Innovation
Roundhill Investments has submitted filings for six exchange-traded funds tied to the 2028 U.S. election outcomes, using event contracts as their underlying mechanism. The proposed ETFs cover presidential results and congressional control for both major parties, offering investors a novel way to gain prediction-market exposure within a regulated framework.
ETF analyst Eric Balchunas described the structure as "potentially groundbreaking," noting its fusion of political forecasting with traditional investment vehicles. The funds WOULD derive value from binary outcomes—either retaining near-full worth or collapsing to near-zero post-election, depending on the accuracy of their political predictions.
